MONTCLAIR, NJ – Today, Essex County Commissioner Brendan Gill, candidate for Congress in New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District, announced the endorsement of SMART Local 25, which represents thousands of sheet metal, air, rail, and transportation workers across the Northern New Jersey region. The endorsement underscores Gill’s long-standing commitment to workers’ rights, strong labor standards, and economic policies that put working families first across New Jersey.

SMART Local 25 joins a growing coalition of New Jersey unions supporting Gill’s campaign, including AFGE Local 913, IBEW Local 1158, IBEW Local 164, the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (BLET), CWA Local 1031, the Firefighters Mutual Benevolent Association (NJFMBA), the Hotel & Gaming Trades Council (HTC), and the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union Local 108 (RWDSU Local 108).
