Brendan Gill, Candidate for Congress in NJ-11, Hosts Inaugural Town Hall in South Orange
South Orange–Maplewood, NJ – Brendan Gill, candidate for Congress in New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District, hosted a town hall meeting Thursday evening with residents from South Orange, Maplewood, Millburn, and the surrounding SOMA area at Bunny’s Sports Bar, in South Orange. The event brought together community members for an open conversation about the future of the district and the issues facing them.
The town hall provided attendees with the opportunity to hear directly from Gill about his progressive record of accomplishment and his vision for representing NJ-11 in Washington.
Gill discussed his more than 20 years of service to New Jersey communities and outlined how he plans to be a strong advocate for affordability, access to healthcare, and protecting vital programs that families rely on.
“Running for Congress is about listening to people where they are and fighting for them where it matters,” said Brendan Gill. “The South Orange–Maplewood community is deeply engaged, values-driven, and ready for leadership that puts working families first. I’m grateful for the chance to hear directly from residents and share how I will be a champion for them in Washington.”
During the town hall, residents voiced a wide range of concerns, including the need to build strong coalitions, better educate and engage our electorate, address ongoing affordability challenges, and safeguard the health of our democracy.
“Town halls are about listening, connecting, and being accountable to the people we seek to represent. I want residents of the SOMA community to know that I am accessible, that their voices matter, and that I will fight for working families, affordability, and opportunity in Washington. With 12 candidates in this race, I am honored to continue laying the foundation for broad, grassroots support across the district,” Gill concluded.
